Instructions
- 1Stand on the base watching a fungo hit to the outfield.
- 2Retreat to contact with the base and read the ball's flight before it's caught.
- 3Explode off the bag the instant the ball touches the fielder's glove.
- 4Sprint through the next base without hesitating to look at the outfielder.
What to focus on
Clean contact with the bag and an immediate first step at the catch.
Common mistake
Leaving early (before the catch) or hesitating after the catch with a false step.
