Instructions
- 1Set up and take a rounded angle behind the path of the ball rather than a straight line at it.
- 2Field the backhand with the glove-side foot forward and the thumb turned down.
- 3Plant on the outside foot and step through toward the target to throw.
- 4Repeat working deeper in the hole each set.
What to focus on
Getting behind the ball so the throw travels through the target.
Common mistake
Attacking straight at the ball and ending up drifting away from first base.
