Two-Tee Swing Path Drill
Create a cleaner barrel entry and longer effective zone coverage
Why this drill
Corrects an overly steep or prematurely uphill barrel path by training a cleaner entry into the hitting zone and longer effective zone coverage.
Setup
Set the front tee at the hitter's normal contact height and position. Place a second tee slightly lower and behind the front tee.
How to perform it
- 1Swing to the front ball while allowing the barrel to pass cleanly above the rear tee.
- 2If the barrel clips the rear tee, reset the repetition and repeat it.
Key feel
Get the barrel into the zone earlier and keep it through the pitch plane.
Success cue
Complete 8 of 10 consecutive swings without contacting the rear tee while maintaining normal sequencing, balance, and intent through the front ball.
Recommended reps
25 swings (approximately 10 minutes); stop before mechanics degrade.
Progression
rehearsal → constrained rep → variable rep → game-like rep when appropriate.
Common mistake
Manipulating or casting the hands simply to avoid the rear tee.
