Release a snap shot quickly off a pass without a long wind-up

Instructions

  1. 1Receive a pass with the puck slightly ahead of your body.
  2. 2Cock the blade back only a short distance, not a full backswing.
  3. 3Snap through the puck quickly, releasing off the front foot.
  4. 4Track your time from reception to release and aim to shorten it.

What to focus on

Minimal backswing with a quick, compact release.

Common mistake

Winding up too far, telegraphing the shot to the goalie.
