Instructions
- 1Stand on the base and track the fly ball into the fielder's glove.
- 2Push off the base the moment the ball touches the glove, not before or after.
- 3Sprint through the next base at full speed once the tag is legal.
- 4Track reps where the runner left early (would be called out) or left late and lost time.
What to focus on
A legal, split-second departure timed to the moment of the catch.
Common mistake
Leaving the base too early and risking an appeal, or leaving late and losing the advancement.
