Instructions
- 1Check the grip is continental before every rep.
- 2Take the racquet back high with the face slightly open, then cut down and through the ball.
- 3Keep the follow-through low and out toward the target, not upward.
- 4Watch for a low, skidding bounce rather than a ball that sits up.
What to focus on
A downward cutting path that keeps the ball low after the bounce.
Common mistake
Chopping straight down, which floats the ball and sits up for the opponent.
