Instructions
- 1Take a short, controlled 2-3 step approach with a low, flat toss in front of the hitting shoulder.
- 2Jump from behind the line and contact the ball with a stiff wrist and flat hand.
- 3Stop the hand quickly at contact rather than following through, to keep the ball from spinning.
- 4Land inbounds and reset to serve-receive-ready position immediately.
What to focus on
Flat hand, abrupt stop at contact to eliminate spin.
Common mistake
Snapping the wrist through contact, putting topspin on the ball instead of a float.
