Hip-Hinge Posture Rebuild
Slumped or excessively rounded posture
6 min
6 rehearsals, then 10 shots.
Beginner
Why this drill
Build a repeatable athletic posture so head and chin position are a result of good structure rather than a separate manipulation.
Setup
Stand tall with the club shaft held lightly along the spine, touching the back of the head, the upper back and the tailbone.
How to perform it
- 1Keeping all three contact points, push the hips back to hinge forward until the club would reach the ball, then add a small knee flex.
- 2Step into a real address position and reproduce the same spine and head relationship.
- 3Rehearse 6 times, then hit shots.
Key feel
Tilt comes from the hips; the head stays in line with the spine instead of dropping toward the chest.
Success cue
Address posture and head height look the same rep to rep on film.
Recommended reps
6 rehearsals, then 10 shots.
Progression
Rebuild without the shaft reference and re-film.
Common mistake
Bending from the waist or lifting the chin so high that the eyes lose the ball.
