Face control
8 min
5 rehearsals, 5 controlled shots, 5 normal shots, reassess.
Beginner
Why this drill
Build a repeatable relationship between setup, face orientation and intended start line.
Setup
Pick a small intermediate target a few feet in front of the ball or create a wide visual gate with tees/alignment markers.
How to perform it
- 1Hit shots with the sole objective of starting the ball through the selected window.
- 2Begin at reduced speed, then progress to normal swings.
Key feel
Commit the face and body alignment to a very specific start window.
Success cue
Ball repeatedly launches through the intended visual gate.
Recommended reps
5 rehearsals, 5 controlled shots, 5 normal shots, reassess.
Progression
Narrow the gate or alternate targets.
Common mistake
Steering the clubhead to the gate instead of maintaining a normal athletic swing.
